Full disclosure, NO this is NOT sponsored, although I wouldn’t complain if it were!
So obviously this isn’t my normal post. Why am I not posting about a book? Well, friends, because I’m a college student who doesn’t really have time to read but also when she does have time to read chooses extremely long books and then puts them aside just as she starts to make progress because she received some exciting book mail and . . . Sigh.
You get me, right?
I need a break from books, oddly enough. Of course I’m still reading, and hopefully once midterm season has passed I can get back to reading more intensely between assignments. For the time being, I thought I’d take the opportunity to mix it up a little bit on my blog.
Recently I decided to try something new called MeUndies. I’m not going to go super in-depth on the product description or anything, because to be quite honest I don’t know much about it aside from the fact that these products are all made with a material that’s like 3x softer than cotton?? That’s about as much as I know. And it’s so accurate that I’m not even questioning it.
For obvious reasons I’m NOT going to include pictures. I’ve ordered maybe 3 pairs of underwear from them, and they’re not expensive. I ordered 2 pairs of pants from them as well, just to try them out. And I own 2 of their bras in different styles.
The underwear is absolutely the most comfortable thing I have ever worn in my life. I had recently taken a look at my underwear drawer and decided it’s about that time to start replacing them. Rather than going somewhere super cheap and buying some in bulk like I probably normally would and then just replacing it all at once (let’s get super personal here I guess?), I decided to try MeUndies. So I bought a pair, using a discount I got from watching my favorite podcast. So I ordered them and they showed up within a couple of days, SUPER fast. I tried them on and I was sold right then and there. I ordered a couple more pairs.
I also decided to become a member, which I’ll talk about at the end of this post. I’ll make a “member” heading for it so it’s easy to find, if you want to scroll right down to that!
Back when I had purchased their products (a couple of weeks ago) they had only had two options for bras, which were the U-back and T-Back. Again, insanely comfortable. I bought the U-Back one first because it reminded me more of a sports bra, and just seemed like the comfier option. My small issue I have with this one is that the straps easily slide down from my shoulders, but that’s because I don’t have much shoulderage (?). Like, they slope down and aren’t very broad or anything, so the U-Back style doesn’t work as well for me because the straps don’t connect in the middle like the sports bras I normally buy.
The T-Back is a better option for me personally, but I wish they had an option that wasn’t the simple little spaghetti straps holding the whole thing up. These straps don’t work the best for my body type in terms of support. If I could mash these two bras together they’d be perfect, but I can’t. They both work fine, and I’m going to continue to wear them because I spent the money on them and they ARE comfortable. I just hope in the future maybe they’ll make an option that will work better for me, maybe a T-Back with thick straps like the U-Back!
Soooooo this is probably predictable but these pants are super comfy and I highly recommend them. They’re a little pricey, but I think they’re worth it. I have two black pairs, one a size larger than the other for when I need to enter Maximum Comfort Mode. I love them and as soon as both pairs are in the dirties laundry pile I have to do laundry so I can have my pants back. They’re my favorites.
Now, let’s talk a little bit about the membership I mentioned. Shall we?
This sounds intimidating, I realize that. I was intimidated too. And I wasn’t going to become a member at all, because I thought it was dumb and a waste. But, really, you aren’t losing out on anything by becoming a member (and no, I’m not trying to sell you on becoming a member because there’s really no point, it’s not like I get anything out of it, I just think people should be aware of this). Here’s the deal:
Each month you pay a given amount and they’ll send you a pair of underwear that you choose. You choose the style, the color, the size, the gender, everything. And on top of that, the cost is discounted (I’m not going to list an exact price here because I’m assuming it varies based on the item). You can also sign up for additional items. So if you want some of their socks to be included in this monthly deal, or pants or a shirt or more underwear or whatever, you can do that. You have to pay for the items, but again they’re at discounted prices.
Here’s the nice part, though: There’s no obligation. If you don’t want an item to be sent a particular month, maybe because you just don’t have the extra cash to spend or don’t need it, you can set it up so they won’t send you anything that month and you won’t be charged a thing, since you didn’t buy anything.
AND, you can cancel your membership any time. No questions asked. (Well, maybe they’ll ask why you’re canceling, but you won’t have to pay anything!)
Also with the membership, every item you can buy on the website is discounted ANYTIME. So on top of the monthly order you’re getting, at a discount, you can also make purchases anytime and you’ll get a special member discount.
AND AND AND, they come out with fun unique prints all the time (monthly? Maybe? Don’t quote me on that) and members get to hear about it first and get first dibs. That’s how I got myself a cute pair of Star Wars underwear, AND got my boyfriend a pair for Christmas. 🙂 (TMI? Maybe. But they’re cute af.)
So Basically . . .
. . . highly recommend MeUndies. I had super high expectations, because they always sponsor the podcast I listen to and they rave about their MeUndies all the time. The bar was set pretty high. But honestly, I was still surprised by how much I loved my stuff. Like, I feel like I’m not wearing anything when I have them on, which sounds a little weirder now that I’m typing it than it did in my head, but it’s true!
Try it, don’t try it, be annoyed by the fact that I’m posting about something other than books and personal stuff, do you! I just wanted to say quickly that the reason I’m making a post like this is that I’m trying to be into self-care. There’s not a lot you can really do when you’re out at school and you have a lot of work to do, and trying to keep up with your bookstagram, and trying to keep your blog updated, and you’re trying to grow your following. Obviously school comes first and those other things are choices I’ve made to stress myself out further, but they’re also hobbies that I take seriously. When I do something I really like to do it well. But sometimes we need to take a step back and take care of ourselves. And since I can’t really do that with school, I’m doing it with my blog and my bookstagram. I only post on my bookstagram once a day now, and once a week every Wednesday on my blog. I don’t interact as much as I would like to on any of my platforms, and my statistics are taking a hit because of it compared to how my summer was going when I first started, but these are sacrifices that have to be made. It’s self-care.
While that form of self-care is helping a little bit, the whole limiting myself to how much time I should be dedicating to different priorities, I’m still stressed. I’m constantly worrying about assignments and papers and essays I need to write and workshop. I recently started freelancing to earn money on my own schedule while I’m in school, and I’m constantly thinking about when I’m going to do those work assignments I’ve been given. I’m not posting on my platforms as frequently as I want to, but I’m still always worrying about making time to write this or that blog post to stay ahead of schedule and what picture I’ll post on Instagram tomorrow morning and making sure I have pictures taken in advance for my Instagram and my blog posts. Thinking about all of the books I’ve committed myself to reading and reviewing and worrying that I’m letting people down by not posting a review on them yet when I really just haven’t had the time to get to them. I’m constantly stressing, I’m constantly anxious.
Buying some MeUndies was a tiny gift to myself, a little bit of self-care I indulged in. I probably won’t be buying anything else for a little while, after this freelance work starts adding up. But the items I do have really help me relax. They’re soft and comfy to snuggle up in. I got in bed a week ago and, TMI, I can never wear pants to bed because I get super hot and sweaty and I just can’t deal with it. But I got into bed with my lounge pants on and actually SLEPT IN THEM because they’re so lightweight and comfortable, and also I forgot I even had them on because it feels like wearing air.
Sometimes we need to indulge a tiny bit, IN MODERATION, in self-care. This was my form of self-care, and I think it’s going to last me for a little while. I’ve also been considering trying a cheap bath bomb from Walmart or something, but I haven’t taken a bath in at least 10 years. I was thinking maybe that could be something I do once a week to unwind, then slip into my comfy MeUndies and relax. For about 5 minutes, before I start worrying about everything again. But it’ll be a nice 5 minutes.
So that’s all I’ve got for today’s post. Have you tried, or heard of, MeUndies? You should try them out! If you have, let me know what you thought of them! Also, what do you think of bath bombs? Is it worth it?
